yes, but you have to inform the staff in apple store that you are going to claim GST. they will be providing you a document that you will present to the staff in Changi that processes GST. i am not sure if the process has been changed, but letting the apple store know of GST claim is always a good idea.

You can only claim GST refund from in-store purchases—and only if you bring your passport during purchase/payment. Online purchases that are delivered in Singapore are not eligible for GST refunds.

AFAIK, Lahat ng store na nasa Airport before and after immigration are already GST deducted. Kasi last time I went to Singapore, naka deduct na yung GST sa price ng Watch Band and lightning to usb c cable na binili ko.

ano daw, duty-free before and after immigration? :D are you saying that freedom before and after marriage are the same? ;)

just kidding. i know what you mean, but there's a difference. there is a reason why most duty-free shops ask for a boarding pass—the purchase restrictions for outbound vs inbound likely differ, depending on the country. for instance, there is no limit to leaving MNL with bottles of liquor, but there is a limit to bringing them into other countries (2 bottles of wine/1 liquor limit into SG, IIRC). same with electronics.

we are philmuggers, not philsmugglers. ;)

You can tell apple store that you're claiming GST so that they will deduct it already.

Adding to @rbenzon's response, not all stores before immigration, Changi Airport to be specific, absorb the GST. Jewel is pretty much within the airport complex but most if not all the stores have taxable goods and services. My bowl of bak kut teh in Orchard Road carries the same prices as in Jewel. Perhaps the fragrance shops with large "GST Absorbed" text near the check-in counters would give you that duty-free price.

For singapore-inbound passengers who decide to purchase goods before passing through SG immigration, you will be asked to show your boarding pass for verification and will pay the retail price plus tax. Even the liquor shops after the immigration section would require your boarding pass too.

Outbound passengers who passed through the immigration will also be asked to present the boarding pass and will enjoy tax-free shopping as usual.

Just been there @raypin but didn't buy anything...yet  just watching the hoi polloi admiring the merchandise on tap...

Didn't even bother holding any of the iPhones because there's this disease that spreads quickly to those who do. It's incurable also.

Actually, they are keeping it out of sight until someone does ask. I actually asked them about the Apple Watch S5 but they said they have not yet got theirs. As for the iPhone, me nakasabay ako na nagtatanong tapos ipinakita naman pero itinago agad, sabi limited stocks lang.
