Better to get from Singapore. Check the exact model of the ones in the PH and get that. iPhones that are not meant for the PH will lack bands that support the new 700mhz LTE frequency. And oh, iPhone warranties are not Global. Its region-based.
iPhones from carriers are sim-locked. You cannot use the eSim of Globe in a Smart unit. And Smart doesn't offer yet the eSim.
looking at the prices from authorized resellers, just wondering why are they higher than the apple ph srp?
so they can offer “0% interest” when bought with card. They’re just hiding the interest imo. if you buy the phone cash, they’ll give you a discount which the price will go down to “apple’s srp”
Re: model numbers, I can confirm, they are correct. iPhones in Japan this year are "global" versions now; in past years, they weren't. As for warranty, while the terms do say it's limited to the country where it was purchased, there have been anecdotal evidence of some APRs honoring warranties of iPhones that are purchased outside PH (not necessarily just Asian countries, I've heard ones from EU as well), with the common theme being the model numbers identical to the ones sold here, and that they're factory unlocked. So yeah, just consider that as a risk you have to take. If you need peace of mind (or if you don't travel to Japan often), it's best to get the ones known to have their warranties honored, like ones from HK or SG.
i think we cannot claim replacement warranty for the hk,mc and cn units... as they have different model number... same as the ones usa and can.
Ah yeah, I guess those are out of luck this year. Last year's HK iPhones actually had two versions, the dual-SIM one, and the nano + eSIM one; the latter had identical model numbers as the "global" version. Not sure if there's someone who's able to claim warranty for a dual-SIM iPhone, but if there was, maybe there's still hope.
thank you! Though the policy of smart on postpaid had changed — dual sim units like samsung note10+ in which my dad use, the representative said one sim slot is smart-locked and the other slot is openline, though the downside you can only use 3G signal and not 4G/LTE signals. So I thought, it would be the same policy with iphone units? Is anyone know about this? Thank you.
Grabe globe exceeded my expectations this time, nadoble tuloy apple watch series 5 ko haha! had i known di na ko sana nag preorder ng watch sa powermac hehe...
Given how bad our telcos phone signal here, it is better to go with iPhone 11 Pro Model A2215 or iPhone 11 Pro Max Model A2218. Both supports LTE Band 28 (700 APT MHz) which uses lesser power compared to LTE Band 1, 3, 40 or 41. Similar comparison between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi power consumption.
