Who's excited for the new iPadOS?
A ton of new features specifically tailored for the iPad's big screen is to be expected.
So get your devices ready, it's coming on the 25th.

Mm....yes it will be supported. The oldest possible device? From 2014, the iPad Air 2.

iPad Pro can read external hard drives thru USB C extensions like the ones being used in newer Macbook once the iPad OS is out already, right?
I assume the new ordinary iPads with lightning cable will also have this function (please correct me if I am wrong). But i am wondering how since i dont see any lightning to USB (standard USB) available in the market now.

I am planning to get an iPad 7th gen but what stopping me is i need accessibility on the files in my external hard drives while I am away from my laptop.
If the iPad 7th cant read it, then I have no choice but to get the iPad Pro.

Will appreciate your insights on this :)

    Thank you very much!

i think you can use the lightning camera connection kit (preferably the usb3 version with a female lightning port) for this.

SanDisk's iXpand is already on it's 2nd Gen...

    ***

I'm hoping iPadOS reads my iXpand as a normal external drive (+ my SSD using the Apple Camera connection kit)
And I wonder if it will read all known file formats known to Mac...

I've given up on full desk-top Safari on the iPad... (iPadOS uses a modified version of mobile Safari - still mobile)

Honestly... I've 95% given up on the iPad... I just can't see the need for it...

But with all the upcoming features of iPadOS... I might just buy a new one :) (I was already at the Apple Store yesterday thinking of which iPad to replace my Mini)

Will have to wait and see if iPadOS can check majority of the required boxes I have for a mobile device...

Thing with the Pro line is...

Is there anything it can do that the cheaper models can't?

Mm...kelangan mo pa yata ma apple-lized:

    :LOL::cool::p

ex: full version photoshop. More powerful hardware = more productivity. Of course it is up to the user how he will use it. And if used productively, it will pay for itself and make the price difference between the pro and the other iPads irrelevant and insignificant. Its beyond browsing.

hahaha... no need, other than my main phone and office PC, everything else is Apple...

forgot about photoshop as I no longer have the time to edit photos...

main use of my iPad is browsing and MS Office... which basically can be done with any iPad.

Mm..update took 28 minutes from download to installation to home screen. No hiccups. All my apps are working.

    Loving, so far:

Split screen for the same app like side by side safari.

New home screen (option to combine widgets with the app screen).

    New volume button.

    Dark mode.

    Faster Face ID

    Faster loading of apps.

I can´t seem to be able to get the mouse buttons to work in iPadOS. I was able to pair my Logitech M590 mouse and got the mouse pointer to appear and function, but clicking any of the buttons doesn’t do anything. The wheel works for scrolling though.

I followed this guide to enable the mouse:
    https://9to5mac.com/2019/06/19/use-mouse-with-ipad-ipados-13/

Is this a bug or did I do something wrong?

I tried a mouse with a wired connection using the Apple Digital AV adapter dongle and while the buttons work, the pointer is so laggy to the point that its unusable.
