Hi everyone, I received an iPad Air 64gb with WiFi+LTE connection as a gift from Japan. An employee of my uncle turned it over, then he gave it to me. When I received it, it had a passcode on and it was in Japanese. So I had to reset it, when I did, it asked for the previous owner's Apple ID, which, I asked my uncle about, but he never replied.

I went to Greenhills with my father (at the tiangge area) where we asked the technicians there what they can do to bypass the activation lock, some suggested they can change the motherboard for 3k, but the storage capacity will be reduced to 16gb, and the others were just sketchy. I heard about Spex Appeal, and they charge 3k-5k for the replacement of the motherboard, are there any more alternatives?
