iPad Air 4 Unboxing & Reviews are here:
Unlike iPhones or iMacs the iPads to me should only be replaced when it isnt supported by iOS, the apps you use, the battery is spent the its physically broken.
Confirmed that Apple Pencil input is a bit sluggish on this.
The Sky Blue is so gorgeous, can’t wait for mine to arrive! Meanwhile, what case/s will you guys get for the Air 4? Hoping more clear cases will be available soon for the unit so I can show off the color!
this is a great laptop alternative I'd buy this together with a magic keyboard, else the regular iPad will do for regular everyday use
this is expected since the screen has a slower refresh rate.
(my personal prediction, the iPhone Pro Max will get Pencil support once it gets Apple's ProMotion display -> 120Hz)
Another blow to the Procreate users and community towards the iPad Air: like many models below the Pro line of iPads, the air can only accomodate maximum 48 layers (in Procreate). Just a headsup for those who will get it for design work... Which I think is a non-issue for many here on philmug...
I thought it’s already available locally. Tried to inquire yesterday at Beyod the Box lucky Chinatown not yet available.
Availability will be the same time online pre orders get ours. I believe the shipment for APRs and Online orders are on the same pallet from SG/HK. Hint: Week of: Nov 9-15.
Beyond the Box posted in its FB page three days ago that the iPad Air is already available but in limited stocks.
Can confirm, first shipment arrived Oct 30th from SG. Mine's stuck in clearance delay. Dunno why APRs got theirs released earlier (they must know someone inside customs).
i already got mine sir earlier pero same day lang tayo nag pre order after nung release last Oct 16.
Cool. Mine's also for delivery. They do like to take their time for "provincial" areas.
is this from Apple SG? how are you shipping to PH?
Any local shop here in pinas with demo units for these? Actually quite curious to see/feel one
BTB in Galleria has display units.
Apple online store for PH uses singapore as their fulfillment hub. All orders originate from Singapore (sometimes HK).
Apple handles everything from shipping, customs and taxes.
I got mine na! Definitely impressed with the product. TouchID still makes sense esp with Magic Keyboard. Speakers are loud enough and the screen colors does not disappoint Definitely a worthy replacement for my iPad Pro 10.5” which was starting to show battery aging.
come to think of it, iPad Pro 10.5” launched at $649 three & a half years ago. This might even be a better value at $50 less + inflation (provided you don’t need ProMotion and Quad Speakers).
Took some posterity shots, it will not look like this clean ever again (exhibit A: Echo Dot getting strangled with greasy hands whenever it ignores my request).
Side note: iPad Air + Magic Keyboard + Pencil = MBAir with M1 Processor (give or take)
Now, there are some plus & drawbacks to each decision (screen, storage, OS, weight, touch input, raw power) but I’m a fan of flexibility and this is the best Swiss-army knife-like product Apple has released.
Getting older as a Millennial meant more work/responsibilities and this device is the epitome of getting work done in the day while still serving up that late night Netflix binge in bed w/o the literal and figurative weight of the day you just went through. Kinda freeing, if you wanna be dramatic about it.
For most a phone is enough but these days its a brick of anxiety, I’d like to use it less, if possible. Lines are drawn on which screen gets to do what.
Glad to have a sense of excitement about a product once again.
