If you just read past the title this becomes a non-issue. Just update to latest and you’re good to go.

Strangely some articles refer to using iOS 10 on an iPad 2. Checked my iPad 2 and it only goes up to iOS 9.

these old devices are high-end intercoms for the house now lol.

My iPad 1st Gen just died on me. Bless its soul. It didn’t brick tho. Just gave out on a last breath without a charge. Sadly no other charger can resurrect it. It will be missed...

My old 4s doesn't have an update for it, along with my wife's Mini 1.

I have iPhone 5, then I should download iOS 10.3.4 only? Can I choose to download version 9 instead?

Nah. My point is there are some people who preserves iOS versions. In my experience, ios 10 on an ip5 is trash. Wherein my ip5 running ios7 is still snappy

If you have an iPad or iPhone released more than 7 years ago it's pretty much good for text, cellular calls and little else.

I have an iPhone SE that I powered up today and still connects to the internet. It’s on iOS 9 but is verifying a 10.3.4 update.

    Better late than never.
