The temporary, time-bound restriction is really meant to stop the user from using the app beyond a certain amount of time--App Limits setting (e.g., too much Facebook, Instagram, etc.)--or during certain times--Downtime setting (e.g., dinner time, bedtime, etc.) and not really for securing the app against usage/acess by unauthorized persons. Hence, Screen Time.

Then again, the Content and Privacy Restrictions setting--which goes beyond limiting screen time--was lumped under Screen Time, so it can be a cause for confusion.

I see your point. You were used to where it was...but when Screen Time was introduced in WWDC it made a lot of sense to move Restrictions there. Imagine the confusion if it was still in its old location and have something similar in Screen Time.

You may want to file a customer feedback for it so Apple gets to look into implementing it better - admittedly the Settings app isn’t perfect but works fine for me.

Re: FaceID/Passcode - it’s still visible on mine at the first screen.

It will become invisible once you put Restrictions to your account.

Yes sir, you actually got my point. Account restriction was more of a security feature against unauthorized access.

Weird I have Content and Privacy Restriction turned on but I can still see the FaceID option. Maybe a particular toggle hid it?

That’s why I’m suggesting you file a customer feedback. The last 3 months in beta I’m sure it was raised but the final build put it there - or kept it there. Apple does read the feedbacks hopefully you get your voices heard.

Have you tried toggling the "Content & Privacy restrictions" off?

Anybody noticed the stock camera app's shutter sound is gone? I tried looking for a toggle for the sound in the settings but couldn't find one..But it gained a haptic feedback via the taptic engine though..personally, I think this is much better than the shutter sound.. :)

    Hi Everyone,

I just updated my iPhone 6S Plus to iOs 12 and seems to have a hard time to update or download a new app from app store It took 45-50 minutes just to update speedtest. Updating and downloading apps via wifi is not affected. I already tried the following. Checking that the date and time is set to automatic, Restarted the phone, Sign-out and sign back in to appstore still have the same issue. Any assistance is much appreciated po.
