Anyone have a copy of Internet Explorer for OSX, or know where to download it. Apparently its no longer available at Microsoft's website but fact is there are other sites that work only with Internet Explorer. I can run it in Windows, but I'd prefer to have the OSX verison instead...

why not try opera that mimics internet explorer. If you are specifically looking for active X, then that is not found in the mac version

...pkus I encountered a person who had trouble logging on to Globe WIZ at ATC. The poor fellow was at the brink of harassing the barista at on of the coffeeshops there. It just so happens that I was also surfing the 'net at that same coffeeshop so in exasperation, the barista asked me if I was having any trouble connecting at all and of course I wasn't.

Long story short: the person who was having trouble connecting to Globe WIZ was desperately trying to do so using IE for OSX, when I recommended that he use Safari, everything went well... to quote Steve Jobs "like butter".

Moral of the story: when using a Mac, forget all about IE. If you really need to use it, do it in Boot Camp or through Parallels.

I just spent the last ten minutes trying to help my sister (who works for SunLife) access the www.sunlife.com.ph page on her PowerBook - she gets irritated because she always has to find a Windows PC with Internet Explorer to access the website.

Apparently, there's a list of options along the side of the page that doesn't show up when browsing with Safari, Firefox (Mac or PC), Camino, or OmniWeb - but after trial and error, I discovered that Opera does the trick! So, moral of the story is: if you need Internet Explorer compatibility, Opera should probably be at the top of your list.

you are correct czar and johnj2803... these banks/establishments should not settle for mediocrity in computers such as only being able to access their sites through IE or what may. They should understand that their customers are moving toward innovation and connectivity (through the MAC, of course!). Some IT person of theirs should look into it and make their site universally sound....

    my 2 cents lang...

    LOYAL Safari user...
