Recently, I wanted to play some of my old games (Civilization 3 in particular) but had problems with the CD. I'd encounter an error (bad sector) so it wouldn't load.

Does this mean my CD is unusable already? Sayang naman, it's an original CD and has been sitting on a shelf the past 10 months or so. Last time I played it, the game ran without a hitch.

Is there any way to restore or repair the CD? Any tips would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

Check the disk for scratches or smudges. Use a lint-free cloth to wipe the disk going from the center to the edge of the disk. Don't wipe in a circular motion. Check the disk again.

    thanks for the suggestions guys.

tried cleaning it with screen cleaner and now it works! i guess it was just smudges that my first attempt at cleaning didn't get rid of.

    thanks again!
