I have a Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 Card Reader and a Sandisk Extreme FireWire CompactFlash Card Reader and I was wondering if iPhoto or Aperture could download multiple memory cards at once using both CF card readers? Or do I have to import into iPhoto/Aperture then just copy from the memory card onto the Desktop?

King, you can ingest photos into Aperture one card at a time. If you want, you can create an Automator action or resort to AppleScript so that all the different cards can be ingested in sequence until everything is in. Your other option is that you may also download (drag-and-drop) the photos from the different cards directly to a file folders first.

I'd like to know though, why would you want to first load the photos into Aperture and then create a copy on the Desktop? What's the purpose of this?

Hello dominique, I was thinking of copying the photos of one memory card to the desktop and
the photos of the other card into Aperture. Once all the cards are done have Aperture import the photos from the desktop.
