i'm making a slideshow on imovie 09, with all the photos flashing at 0.2 seconds each. how do i insert a black background at the beginning of the show that will fade out after the first 15 photos? adding a cross dissolve in the beginning only affects the first photo of the slideshow..

    anyone know how? :)

i think you will need a black frame. you can use your photo booth / built-in camera and cover the lens to create this effect. Locate the file and Insert it to the beginning of your video. Hope this helps.

just insert the black frame before the video. then put a cross dissolve in between.

If I understood you correctly that would be the precision editor and transition adjustment. In the project library click on the chosen transition - adjust frame location and transition duration to your liking.

Try using pro apps for that desired effect. Like Final Cut Express (FCE) or Final Cut Pro (FCP).
Limited lang kasi ang capabilities ng iMovie. Pwede mo naman export yung project mo from iMovie to FCE.
