    You and I my friend. My Das has now worn out shiny keys because of heavy use. I'm planning to get myself some blank black PBT keycaps to replace them. So far the best I could find are the PBT leopold navy blue blank keys. No black keys yet. :(

    didn't want to open another thread, since my query is related to the wireless keyboard. just got a notification that the battery of my wireless keyboard is now low. so here goes..

    how long do the batteries of your wireless keyboard last, on the average? do you guys use rechargeable batteries - or just the usual energizer etc?

    Thank you @bhoyetjumpay and cybersniper. Where would I find eneloop batteries (and the charger) here? Apple resellers? True Value? Computer shops?

    If you are near Virramall, ang suki ng bayan, Abacus carries them as well.

    In the short time I used my Apple wireless, it usually last me a month before recharging. I type a lot though. My Aunt who is a casual user claims battery last her as much as two months.

    @Salaryman and cybersniper

    After reading your post re mechanical keyboards. I'm strongly considering on purchasing a Filco Minila Air. Any toughts on this keyboard? what switch do you recommend?

    if you do a lot of typing, you cant go wrong with Blues... but if the sound of it would cause chaos at home, then consider browns :)

    I personally haven't used the Filco Air myself but here are some good reviews by keyboard enthusiasts from Deskthority and Geekhack (the hardcore keyboard forums)

    [Review] Filco Minila Air • deskthority

    and

    https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=42126.0

    Since the Filco Air uses the Blue MX switches it is very similar to my Das Mac Keyboard which means it is very clicky. The blues are designed for typists because it is so tactile. They say the click signals your brain to move your fingers quicker to the next key so you type faster. By doing regular typing tests I noticed that I can indeed get a higher WPM at average. As Cybersniper said, the only problem with blues is that it is quite noisy, if you are not alone you might annoy your neighbours. :)

    Apple peripherals seems to be of not so good quality lately. And that is the reason why i am looking for alternative brands.

    Quality is indeed a problem, but i'm still going to get an Apple Keyboard. My son's wireless keyboard still works just fine. I'm not sure if it's a bad batch, or the universe decided to give me all the bad ones lol.

    I realized i posted here years ago lol. When i got my imac i had 3 keyboard replacements in 2 years so i guess it was a hit or miss thing with quality. The 3rd one has lasted for 2 years or more already.

    When mine died after 4 years, I just bought a Logitech bluetooth keyboard for P 1,200 at Vmall. Battery life is great and better than my Apple keyboard. My apple mouse died earlier and I got a Logitech BT mouse for P 1500 at Vmall. too. No issues at all.

    My iMac's wireless keyboard is now 7 years old and is still working fine. I bought the black eneloop batteries for it a couple of months ago and they definitely last longer before needing a charge.

    I am also using the black eneloop. And the battery is not the proble, it is the keyboard itself. Suddenly, lots of keys are not working anymore.
