At what time of the year does Apple usually release new versions of iMac?

Has there been a release for this year?

    Thanks.

Apple just launched the new iMacs about 2 days ago. All models are now quad core and with higher spec video cards. Apple has no fixed schedule on releasing new models each year but usually Macs are updated a year after its launch.

Apple depends on Intel for their processors so keep up to date on the latest Intel Core processors. :) The 2012 iMac is expected to come out March next year at the earliest. This will sport Ivy Bridge technology.

    Hi Dethro,

You can try checking the Apple USA site at http://www.apple.com/imac/

I think for the Asian region we will have the updated iMacs a bit later.

    Thanks

You must be mistaken. iMacs has always been quad core since May 2011.

    Don't Buy - Updates soon
    293 Days Since Update
(Avg Days per iMac update = 273)

    All these according to http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#iMac

So this looks like a "Buy if you need, wait if you can" thing.

I wouldn't recommend an iMac until they solve the "smudging issue" among others.

I agree, this is the biggest deal breaker for me. I do not relish carrying my heavy iMac to a repair center every few months to have my monitor replaced. I love the iMacs but I defiantly will not spend a premium on a machine with a design flaw.
