Hi Guys I would like to ask if anyone of you has an experience purchasing an iMac in HK or Kuala Lumpur? Or any of you have an idea if they will charge me with duties and taxes in the airport in HK/Philippines? I have a business travel soon and I am wondering if this is possible because WOW Apple products there are really way way affordable. Thanks in advance and all your suggestions or comments will be appreciated. kind regards
There is a high probabilty of being charged a duties and taxes or others (if any) But the last time i travelled back to ph, customs are no longer strictly searching in bags
thanks for that information my problem now is that how can i Fit that imac 21.5" box in my bag hahahaha big problem? is it possible to hand carry it and declare that it is not brandnew?
@escritor, Have you compared the prices at the Apple Store websites for Phils, HK & Malaysia? The Phils website's prices already include shipping & taxes. You can also configure the unit to your desire based on the alternatives that Apple's allow. If you buy from a physical Apple store, you're pretty much restricted to what they have on stock. Just something for your consideration.
That's right. Getting an iMac from the apple philippines online store might not be that far from HK prices. Or inquiring from local premium apple reseller like BTB. Getting an iMac and bringing it physically to the country can be a hassle. That's just me.
Actually some prices in Philippine online store much higher than hk store. That is why my suggestion is to inquire cash prices from Charlie.
Ph and Hk prices have about 6-10k php difference sepending on the item. Try a bargain in other local stores, or any contact in hk or kl. still imac is terrible to transport due to its size. Any smaller thank that, some may be able to help
