I want to complain. I ordered an ilife 09 update from Apple and they were supposed to ship it to me. I was excited since it was only cheap compared to the ilife for single user because i bought my laptop this year only and I qualified for the up to date ilife. Anyway, so I was tracking my order and it was supposed to arrive last week pa. So I called Apple and complained. They said they shipped it already but didn't get a return mail and they think that it got stolen in our Philippine post office! So now they're going to send it again but then I have to pay again!!! UGHHH!!! I am sooo annoyed. Did this ever happen to you guys????
I ordered some books some years back thru amazon. The same thing happened, this is what we get with a postal system that is also corrupt and infested with kleptomaniacs!
Ey how did you get that up to date offer? I can't seem to find it in the apple online philippine store. though I've seen that in the US and HK online store.. I also bought my this year, first week of february
You work hard to buy nice things to be swiped by thieves that get paid for by our taxes. Only in the Philippines!
Let's not be hasty with our condemnation, guys… This item (I suppose a DVD disc in a bubble wrap envelope) is not the type that will attract undue attention. Some shipping arrangements track packages from the time the item leaves the origin and only up to the time it is received by the central postal office in the destination. (Unless Apple shipped door-to-door wherein you can track the package until you personally receive it.) I am sure it is in the local Post Office and the clerks will just have to prepare the notice to send to you. That part of the process is 'snail mail', so be patient. 'Only in the Philippines'? I have three personal experiences (one in England and two in the US, where the senders finally discovered that the items they shipped to me 'got lost' in their local POs. The items never left their country at all.
I have some questions: -Which Online Apple Store did you purchase from? (Philippines?) -What shipper do you have a tracking number for? When I've ordered from Apple Store Online Philippines in the past, all shipments were sent via a courier, namely DHL. All tracking numbers were DHL. In my experience with Apple both here in the Philippines and in the US, they've used a courier service (Fedex, DHL, etc) and not regular parcel post (PhilPost/US Postal Service) to send me my Online Purchases. Check your documentation as to when it was supposed to arrive. If it's past due, take it up with the courier service. I sincerely doubt it could have been lost or stolen in the Philippine Post Office since I have never heard of Apple shipping items via regular mail.
It seems that for this up to date program, Apple chose to use local mail as delivery. This is probably because the iLife09 includes free shipping already at $9.95 (around P600). Maybe if you buy another item at the online store that reaches P3000 they'll send it via courier.
why would you pay again? You did not receive the item, so I guess you can demand apple to send you another copy.
@jay25: Ok, that explains it. I suggest that you buy something extra so that it goes over P3000. I don't trust the local mail system.
If it's lost, I think you can't do anything about it, as stated in the terms and conditions. Now I'm having second thoughts about buying the up to date iLife 09.
Hey pixelated, email me a copy of your receipt (proof of purchase), your home address and I will send you a copy of iLife 09 update. I got one included in a Mac I just bought. Since you already paid $9.95 for it, it's practical and not illegal for me to just give you a copy. Our PO cannot be trusted. Very corrupt. Have you tried visiting the PO's pkg dept to claim a pkg? I witnessed how they once opened up a box of chocolate, unsealing it, and asking, "What is this?" Duh? The recipient had no other choice but to share his chocolate. Imbestigador or XXX should send a spy-camera there.
why not download ilife 09 from apples site then buy the serial to remove the 30 day limit. The risk of buying physical is not only from theft. I have had mine misrouted to Sebu, thailand instead of Cebu, Philippines (twice- Not our post office 's fault). I don't know about you; but I think the philippine postal corporation is very reliable although sloooooow.
True. It happens sometimes. Suggestion: Give your postman a gift and ask him to trace the package for you. Btw, I once read in the news of postman who threw the day's mail into the drain. He was caught.
Because the program that the OP participated in (iLife '09 Up to Date) has iLife for sale for only $9.95 (because he recently got a Mac on or after 1/9/09). This program only ships physical copies and doesn't provide serial number codes from what I've read. iLife from the Apple Store Online Philippines (regular, not part of the above promo) costs P4590, or roughly $100. $9.95 vs $100. You can see why the OP did it this way and why s/he's understandably pissed. Btw, can you just get the iLife 09 serial number aka through digital download? I thought all copies sold were physical copies that were shipped.
