My husband (Las Vegas) recently purchased an iBook and we have been chatting through iChat pero super hirap talaga mag maintain ng decent conversation...please help me. i am here in the Phils. using blast prepaid dial up (which doesn't seem to be a problem with yahoo messenger when we were both pc users)...but right now, since we're both using macs...we can't carry out a decent conversation via iChat kasi palaging nag ha hang...please help po...i know a lot of our MAC GURUs are able to help...my husband is using the trial .mac account and he is having second thoughts kung magpu-purchase nga sya because of this.
we tried skype (mac to mac) too difficult talaga....(mac to pc...ok)
if anyone will suggest for me to upgrade and use broadband...kindly inform me po kung ano ang pinaka preferable na provider through your experience...please, desperate na po kmi.
    :broken:

    God bless you all.

It's your connection to the internet I believe. correct me if I'm wrong, guys,
    iChat requires a broadband connection.

hmmm i use plain old dial-up at home with iChat with no problems doing the regular text chatting. i've even used this setup to do audio chats with longbeard in hong kong with excellent clarity.

could you be a bit more specific with the problem? are you just doing regular chat or voice chat?

Here are the minimum requirements for iChat. Don't forget that even though your plan provides a certain bandwidth in reality it doesn't always live up to it.

As long as you're not using Video, iChat will work with a dialup.

I also believe it's a problem with your provider. Get a different ISP prepaid card to check it out.

thank you for your replies. i will try a different prepaid card...i hope this will work. we only use it for audio chatting lang kasi wala pa iSight eh. ok naman po ang system requirement namin kasi we're both using the latest iBook and Powerbook (both 12"). accdg. po sa blast ay 56k ang access (?hope this is true)i will post feedback po. i hope maging maayos na po ang chat namin. God bless u all.
