hi peeps i tried registering my macbook today and i was asked to give additional information. so i sent a picture of my invoice as well as a copy of my credit card receipt. these are my only proofs of purchase from mobile one. can anyone please give me any advise on how i can get this matter settled? THIS IS THE REPLY I GOT FROM THEM Thank you for sending documentation regarding your Apple product. The documentation you sent, however, is not sufficient because it is not the proof of purchase or sales receipt for the product. Order-status documents, shipping-status documents, and email/editable receipts are not valid proof of purchase. A valid proof of purchase should contain the date of purchase, reseller information, itemized product information, and total price paid. Contacting the reseller or taking a screenshot of an online invoice may be the best way to obtain a proper receipt. For further assistance with this issue, please scan and attach your proof of purchase or sales receipt issued by the reseller to an email and send it to [email protected]. If you prefer, you may fax the proof of purchase to 1-916-399-7337, ATTN: APP DOP. Please be sure to write the Case or Repair ID listed above in the subject line or request cover sheet. Sincerely, AppleCare Agreement Administration if you guys have any good ideas so i can get my product registered i will greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance peeps! miguel
no i havent. ill call them later, but im not sure what they can do to fix this. apparently i got a laptop from them that was produced late 08, and im registering as purchased june 09 so apple is blocking the registration cause they probly think my calaims are fraudulent.
Hi raze94, You should contact the store where you bought your Mac and as for an OFFICIAL RECEIPT or an OR. The image you have up there is of a Sales Invoice which is different and usually not recognized as valid/official. I hope you don't mind me asking but I never tried to register my Apple before so I don't have experience with the procedure. But is there a part where you are asked for proof of purchase? I thought they only asked for contact info. Good luck with registering.
i thought it would actually be easy, but it turns out the macbook i got from them must have been old stock and sitting on their shelf for a long long time. i didnt think about it when i purchased it because the box was sealed. well, thats besides the point. anyway, apple appears to be blocking the registration because my macbook is appearing on their system as pre09 and im registering as purchased on june 16, 2009. goodness this is stressing me out! i just hope mobile 1 helps me on this.
also the Sales Invoice has PRICE corrections... try to get Mobile One to give you an Official Receipt... then call 1800 1441 0234... HTH...
yup i chose philippines. i havent contacted mobile 1 yet im hoping i can fix this without needing their help. its hard na to talk to the sales people unless i can get the contact of the owners. mobile 1 is a mac distributor so i dont know whats with the hassle. do you guys think its important that i register it or is it good enough for local warranty purposes that i have the sales invoice? is registering with apple a prerequisite to be able to make claims for warranty?
Hi there. I was intrigued by your post so I decided to register my Unibody Macbook (late 2008 model which was bought Jan 2009) in the Apple website but this is not under the AppleCare plan, just the normal product registration. And I successfully registered my Macbook and I have a screenshot of the successful registration.
I'm with @d1scjock ask for an Official Receipt/OR Also i'm surprised that for such a high priced item Mobile 1 doesn't(or at least in this case didn't) give out Official Receipts which is AGAINST the LAW.... Even fastfood joints nowadays can't bypass a customer without giving/printing out a Official Receipt...
ok i just came from mobile 1. they said they will fix the registration for me. the people in park square branch were very helpful. so lets see what happens and ill you guys posted on developments. @claudiey can you please post the link of the registration page you used? i wanna try it again. thanks!
as the email posted, they dont accept those edited sales invoice. mobile1 can fix this easily by calling apple
ok i just checked with the site i dont think that registration has anything to do with the warranty and coverage of the macbook. i think its just general registration to get information about your product and software updates. i was able to register with no problems there.
this may be moot, but it's usually a good idea to have the reseller do the registration for you. good luck.
