hi. been having some problems downloading some selected apps from safari as well. usual files like senuti or google earth. Or if ever it dowloads, it takes forever for a 1 to 2 mb file to download. anyway, i will try firefox pa. Hay, thanks to philmug, lots of helpful info talaga. :)

have you tried repairing permissions, disk repair, clearing cache etc.?

    also..
another person suggested you look at these:

Is JavaScript enabled? (in the Safari preferences)
Are you using any 3rd-party Safari "enhancers"?
(Check the /Library/InputManagers and ~/Library/InputManagers folders)

What happens if you log in as a different user?

hi johann!! thanks for helping me out. hehe

i tried clearing the cache.. i have no idea how to repair permissions and conduct a disk repair though..

regarding the other suggestions, yes my java is enabled. i have one third party app---speed download enhancer.. it's a .bundle file..? how do i get rid of it? do i jus drag it to the trash bin?

what do u mean by logging in as a different user? please expound.

    thanks again! :)

ahh...that's your problem..speed download. I've read a lot of people having problems with downloading when they have that installed.

do you know how to remove that plugin?

HOW DO I UN-INSTALL SPEED DOWNLOAD PROPERLY ?
    • You cannot simply trash the Speed Download folder to un-install it.
    • You must use the included un-installer.
    • Quit all browsers and any running copy of Speed Download.
    • Run the SD Uninstaller (located in your Speed Download folder).
    • Log out and log back in.
    • Empty the trash.

if it doesnt work, just give me your laptop and buy a new one. I'll take care of it. I'll even name it after you. after all, downloading is very important. <wink wink>
