    Hi,
Just got my new iphone7 (yey). I vaguely recall that restoring from an iTunes backup will NOT restore iMessage history. What about transferring Viber chat history and all the other IM apps? My iCloud storage isn't enough to hold the data I'd like to transfer, so no go. Anyone please? (I want to use my new phone na!)
    Thanks in advance =; )

Manually Backup your old iphone using iTunes.
Backup your messages in Viber app settings.

Connect your new iPhone to iTunes.
    Select Restore from that backup.
All will be restored. (Viber messages & imessages)

    PS.
I only have viber bbm. bbm and whatsapp have their own ways on backing up the messages.

ok was trying to manually backup then intended to restore from iTunes but we have no internet Its been more than a week and we are desperate!!! Specially now since it seems setting up a new phone requires wifi/internet do we need internet! I cant use my hotspot on my old fone bec my new phone needs the new sim.
Can we transfer data from old to new phone without internet?

So, successfully restored from an iTune backup and iMessages and all other IM messages were intact. BUT, i had to load the pocketwifi first, because, the iPh7 would NOT continue being set up (just says it may take some time - it took forever, until I got the pocket wifi working). Now just waiting for the rest of my apps to load =; ) Thanks Magnus!
