how do i save the lyrics of the mp3's in my itunes library? am planning to burn old mp3's into a cd and then delete them from the library to give more space to new ones. but, i'm worried that all the lyrics and album art that i've accumulated will get lost. is there a way around this such that i will still be able to load them in the future. i want to save the lyrics for my ipod.

    TIA

Find the lyrics to the songs that you want using google or yahoo search.

When you find it, highlight and copy the text.

Find the song in your library.

Right click the song and select "Get info"

On the window that pops up, click on the lyrics tab.

Paste the text into the space provided then click OK.

The text will show up in your iPod next time you sync.

@nuggets.....if your goal is to backup your itunes library to an optical media and restore the contents as needed, here's the procedure for the newest iTunes version (8.0): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1382

TunesText widget does it for me. Automatically scans the net & saves lyrics to your iTunes. Press your widget key and instantly read the lyrics of the current song. Freeware! Click here.

I highly recommend GimmeSomeTune too (just not a fan of the donation window that opens at the start, hehe. Too cheap to donate)

Are you sure GimmeSomeTunes is running while iTunes is up? Just select a song and it will fetch the artwork and/or lyrics if it hasn't got one.

While a song is playing, click on the "notes" and select 'Show lyrics'. The lyrics should be displayed for that particular song.

GimmeSomeTune has problems fetching lyrics and artwork if the songs are improperly named (including the filename). At least that's from my experience...

I have a widget called SingThatItune

Aside from showing you the lyrics, once you play a song, it automatically saves the lyrics of that song in a folder. The lyrics are sorted by artist

It can also fetch the album artwork for you and put it in itunes. All you have to do is check a box :)

It's the GimmeSomeTunes icon on the menu bar. :)
