hi. i've been trying to activate my mail app for a while, but i just can't get it to work. i use gmail. maybe i'm inputting the wrong data in the fields? help! thanks.
i mean i wasn't able to use it since the very beginning. will try what sabonis suggested. thanks! edit: this is what appears when i enter pop.gmail.com and my username and password: "Trying to log into the POP server “pop.gmail.com” has failed. Please make sure the username and password are correct. If you continue, you may not be able to receive any email."

Have you tried following Google's own excellent step-by-step instructions, Configuring your email client: Apple Mail? Double-check that you did all the steps. EDIT: Oops, renzo beat me to it
Have you activated pop access on your gmail account? Gmail doesn't allow pop access/download by default. To activate, you need to login on your gmail account, click settings, then "Forwarding and Pop", then select enable Pop. You can now download your emails provided that you have the correct settings on your Mac Mail App. Hope this helps. Goodluck!
