Just wondering guys, how many applications are installed in your precious MAC and which among them is your favorite(except those pre-installed by apples) or you think your MAC cant live without?

As a new user, i have only 58 applications installed and my favorites are of course the games (professor fizzwizzle, luxor), liquidmac, appdelete and mac office...

@bertoo1960: it doesn't mean that your stressing your mac if you have lots of applications installed, he even enjoys that! that's how he can prove his worth...not unless if you open those 163 applications of inara altogether! hehehe..

    Most recent count: 60

    Most Frequently Used:
    - Adium
    - Safari
    - Gizmo (really fun and for me, better than Skype)

    - Transmission
    - Mail (I merged it with my Gmail)
    - iChat (but my dang ice cam is still looking sandy)

    Thinking of installing:
    - Firefox (hedging due to the amount of bandwidth it's going to take up)
    - Games (still looking for something I'd really have fun with ... and i don't have time right now)

Well, I tried running it on my old mac (the one i lost) and since i only have 40 gig, it somehow slowed the other applications I was running then. So I figured, I'd stick with safari. I'm no expert but i think it all boils down to whether you have enough memory and depending on how fast ur connection is. Firefox is awesome but patience has never been my virtue so I chose speed over it. I'm sure the other mac experts here have a better viewpoint on this one. Sorry, I'm just a happy user but a bit clueless about these things.

i have about 90 in my apps folder. about half of them are rarely launched and only 12-15 are used regularly. iLife and iWork apps are the ones that usually utilize my Mac's RAM.

There is one particular website, Tennis.com, where I have to open Firefox even if I'm already browsing in Safari. For some strange reason, the next pages of the photo section NEVER loads in Safari. I never tried to diagnose, rationalize or discern the mysteries of this - I simply accepted it as a fluke or a quirk and lived on.

Back to topic: I have more than 100 apps in the main folder and 28 in Utilities.

I counted 175 apps and utilities installed under Systems Profiler. I frequently use about less than 50% of the list.
