I know how cool iChat has become after Leopard so it's frustrating for me that it's available only for AIM. I've googled the possibility of using my YM account for iChat but the process of using jabber is killing me. Has anyone here found another way around this aside from jabber? Or do you use it exclusively with AIM? I did create myself an AIM account but none of my friends are on it so I virtually don't use it at all.

Hi Armel! I've been able to use iChat with YM. Just do a google for "iChat with Yahoo" and it should lead you to the right direction.

I'd strongly consider you get an AIM account so you can use the iChat theater functions.

with the aim account, can i communicate with my yahoo contacts so i could use the ichat theater function? also, all the solution seem to point to jabber. will look pa for one that doesn't need jabber.

iChat theater works only for AIM and .Mac. I just did a demo over the net with my friend.
Connection and video quality were pretty good, despite it going over the internet!

Used my YM account with iChat for some time. However I gave it up in favor of Adium since I've had quite some trouble using iChat with multiple YM accounts.
