I was googling for reviews and resellers for the Macbook Pro, opening numerous browser tabs and I somehow managed to stumble upon this website. Took me a while before I registered and became proactive. So, what's your story?

Well it was the other way around for me...somebody from PhilMug googled/emailed me for a sort of emergency advice and then later asked me to join the forum...

She’s now gone, but am still here...

I was googling how to jailbreak the first iPod Touch. I remember having a different login then, then I forgot my password and even the email so I created a new profile. LOL.

Back in 2009, I was given (hand-me-down) a MacBook Black late 2006 with symptoms of a bloated battery.
I was searching the net on what to do & stumbled upon this forum in which it did help me a lot. (y)

Like many others, Charlie brought me here. Google'd places where I can get the iPad2 and found PhilMUG where there were discounts and reservation list for members. Didn't care about the discount, I was really after the reservation.
That iPad still works, my non-techie dad uses it for Facebook and porn. Ughh.

Google’d info about the iPod Video (my first Apple device), then it led me here.

Was thinking of switching from PC to Mac back in 2007, and voila, PhilMUG was the first forum to pop up. Gave my usual "needs" and "wants" in a computer, why I should switch to Mac, got a lot of advice, and voila!

    I can't remember.

Judging from my "joined" date though, I must have been researching about my iPod Mini.

I too, was a refugee from Mapalad.

i honestly can't remember exactly how i came to know about PhilMUG, but i probably was googling a lot about Apple products then because i was about to buy my very first iPhone. this was around a few months before the iPhone 4s launch.

what i like most about PhilMUG is the general culture of respect and civilized discussion among members. admins and moderators are quick to respond to individuals who aren't as restrained in expressing themselves, or those who aren't interested in providing value to the community. dissenting opinions are more than welcome, as long as everyone does it in a civilized manner.

Mm...can no longer recall. But I have a feeling it was about the original iPhone (or Steve Job’s iPhone) that led me to join Philmug.

Many of the original Philmug guys no longer active. :(

Oh well.....to the next 10 years of Philmugging (join year 2008).

I found it when I first got my white MacBook way back 2007. This was the site that helped me cope with my PC-to-Mac shift. I remember there was another wholly separate Philmug site (a dot ORG one). This dot PH site was the more helpful and better moderated one back then so I stuck with it, that's why I'm still here... :D
