Maybe you recently visited the camera shops in hidalgo and did some canvassing of cameras, accessories, and photography equipments - please share them with us here... My visit yesterday was about filters. Watsons (Hoya na wala stock ang Henrys) .Hoya UV Filter 72mm multicoated - 1250 .Hoya UV Filter 72mm - 600 Henrys (mostly Hoya & Sunpak) .Hoya UV Filter 52mm PRO1- 1600+ Mayer (Sunpak) .Sunpak UV Filter 52mm - 300 Avenue (Marumi brand only) .Marumi UV Filter 52mm - 800 Fortress (or was that 24k? magkatabi kasi) (Sunpak... I think... memory fails) .Nikon D40 kit grey - 20,000 .Nikkor 18-200 VR - 33500 Surprisingly, I didn't see any Kenko filters anywhere. These were ubiquitous with Hoya in HK camera shops. Was about to canvass blowers (any recommendations?), but one saleslady told me that blowers just move the dust, and eventually the dust sticks back. So eventually, the solution is just to have it cleaned by the Service Center. Was confused with so many blower products and configurations/lenspens/kits.
i might go there iin Hidalgo later this afternoon to check Henry's, Mayer's, Watsons, Avenue and 24K stores, prices of Canon and Nikon systems. My hand is already itching for a 3rd DSLR.
Wanna get together for a late lunch? I know this nice place on Benavides that serves baked chicken in tomato sauce Am looking for a Canon 24-70 2.8 L too. But there seems to be a drought. Nobody has it... If somebody wants some eneloop batteries, I know this great deal P900 lang with 2 batteries and charger na. Daya pala sa ***** cause they take out the two free eneloops that come in the charger and sell them separately....
@Kenneth: sayang, we should've planned this earlier. I might be there around 3pm na. will txt also with ken. still waiting for imabs din to reply. *****= avenu/watso? LoL!!!
hahaha. instant mini-Philmug iPhotographers meet. let's bump altogether there and they'll be surprised!!!
Don't know where that is. why not sa SM, in front of the ForEx? the exit there leads right to Hidalgo.
haha. sorry guys. i've been there already. D80 body went up to 35K at Avenue. Nikkor 50mm 1.8D in Mayer's is at Php5,900. D90 and Canon 50D plays at Php 55K in CDSC and Canon Warranties respectively. D90 grey unit is playing at 45-46K.
@imabs: sana nag-ask ka na ng D300. My vote for you is D90 or D300... Are the D90 prices you gave for body only? Btw, the 20k D40 kit is the lowest brand new price I've seen... It's store warranty though...
D300 at Henry's if i recall p, priced at 57K (grey unit) i heard somebody asked a Canon 5D Mk II at Mayer's and the helper said,"Php118,000." i can't believe what i heard from her. or maybe she took my attention because she's cute.hehehe i am tempted to get a Nikon D40 dahil di ko matiis na walang DSLR sa kamay ko.hehehe and it's amazing, i asked 2 stores along Hidalgo if how much they buy a 6 month old Nikkor Lens (70-300mm VR ƒ4.5-5.6G AF-S IF-ED), the first store, they said," di ka lugi at pareho tayong masaya, ipakita mo lang yung lente mo." the second one, when manong taba asked me," ano ang opening ng lente mo?", i gave him the specs then he turned when i told him. then the Nikon Film SLR F4 came to my attention. wow, a second hand SLR F4 being sold at 8K. i tried it's functionality. i found out that it is not focusing well. then they let me use the DX lenses. wow, 18-55mm is not the right lens for that camera. i realized that the SLR is a Full Frame camera. i saw undesirable vignette on both sides of the view finder. come to think of it, FX has begun. DX is slowly maturing and a couple of years, FX will be dominating the whole Nikon line of DSLRs. so i told myself, i should not be buying DX format lenses any more after i realize how important and relevant of the FX or Full Frame format in the DSLRs in the nearest future. that's a 2 hours spent of meditating "What camera and lenses should i get beyond now" in Hidalgo
