When I turn on the PB, the screen comes up with the message that says " you must restart your computer."
I've restarted it several times but it always gives out the same message.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Please don't tell me my beloved PB is dead.

    Thanks.

Bring it in to an Apple service center and have it diagnosed. :)

Update : The PB booted up just fine. It was unplugged when the problem started.
After a few minutes on AC power, It booted up just fine.
Could be a sign that its life is about to end? The battery is as old as the laptop and it can't hold much power anymore.
Your inputs are still very much welcome.

Try to check first on your battery.

is the message the kernel panic message? if so, then it's usually a RAM problem.

if it's software, try to boot from your OS X DVD and use repair disk/repair permissions in DISK UTILITY.

yes, this battery needs replacement. though 2nd hand is cheaper, buying new will give you more battery cycles.

Thanks. I removed the battery and the problem is still there.
The problem goes away after a few restarts. But I know it's not fixed.
I'm in Vancouver right now so I don't know where to have it checked.
