Help with broken MBA Hinge

    Apple cant repair this...they suggested to replace the whole lcd for 36 K grr...Ebay selling for 200$
    can i just order from ebay and have apple service center install it for me??

    it was just any other day of mac usage until i heard something pop from underneath and it started to wobble then bam it fell flat.... its like it took a massive uppercut

    @nerdoc, call your favorite Apple Service Center and ask if they can do the installation for you if you supply the LCD. I've always been satisfied with Ynzal, you can give them a call too.

    EDIT: Oops, @raypin just posted that it's apparently a known issue with MBAs. Do as he suggested, call Apple directly.

    If the service center says it's not covered by warranty, you'll probably need to call Apple Support directly at 1-800-1441-0234.

    I have a new new name its now called the flat book... so flat you could use it as a tray

    I think they will not fix it for free if the metal hinge itself is broken.
    According to the Apple doc above - "broken or cracked plastic..."
