i tried running azerus 2.4.0.2 but it doesnt start. the icon just jumps for a few seconds then dissapears. im using a mbp 1.8. im able to run it on my g4 mini. i already installed the java runtime 5.

although the "transmission" client works fine, the reason why i want to run azerus is that it allows me to choose which files to download in the torrent. are there other programs out there with this capability?

hmm, since Azureus is Java-based, then it is Intel compatible. Have you tried trashing the application and all its related files? Try AppZapper, then reinstall. See if that works.
