Uhmm.. is it just the zoto.com site that isn't loading on your imac? If not, may there is something wrong with the internet connection of your imac.

hmmm.. that is weird.. do you have firefox installed in your imac? Try using firefox, there might be an illegal html tag that is not being rendered by the safari browser in your imac.

Perhaps the IP address or website is being blocked by your ISP.

that is really weird.. as you said you've tried everything already (reset, clear cache, etc), I can't think of other reason why you're not able to browse the said site..

This might help pinpoint if its just network problem..

First, open your terminal on both macs.. and "ping zoto.com".. if it's registering different IP address of zoto.com, then that is the problem.. your macbook might be getting the proper IP of the zoto.com server and your imac might not..

Second, while in the terminal, try "telnet zoto.com 80" (telnet to zoto.com on port 80).. if you get either just a blank screen or you get connection timeout or connection refused from your imac.. then you might have a firewall/anti-virus application that is blocking the zoto.com site.

    Hope this somehow helps..

try using a proxysite such as http://nugrind.com

I had problems accessing philmug before when I'm at home but when I used a proxy site, It worked perfectly. Most likely your ISP is blocking it or have issues with DNS servers.

Are you using SmartBro? Using external proxies is a very high security risk. Be careful using it especially on sites that require logins.

The reason I'm asking if your using SmartBro, is because there are alternative (safer) way to DNS problems of the DNS servers of SmartBro. SmartBro's DNS keeps getting hijacked by other DNS systems which makes your browsing prone to attacks by making you go to sites with malicious codes.

I'm current using OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com) on my router at home which is connected to SmartBro. Its safer and also faster than ISP DNS.

from nugrind.com, this is what i got :

"Javascript must be enabled to visit or use Zoto's site. Keep in mind that Zoto uses javascript libraries for almost all of its functionality, so if you have it turned off, you won't be able to do much (if anything at all)."

i checked safari & firefox' preferences, the javascript is enabled naman.

i'm using zpdee skycable. after configuring using the OpenDNS code, opening site again, i got this:

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.zoto.com/

    The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.zoto.com
    The dnsserver returned:

Server Failure: The name server was unable to process this query.
    This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.
Your cache administrator is [email protected].

Hmmm.. looks like its your ISP's problem or the DNS host of zoto.com might be having problems

Time to flush dns. Hope this helps:

How to Flush DNS in Mac OSX

In Mac OSX Leopard, you can use the command dnscacheutil -flushcache to flush the DNS resolver cache: bash-2.05a$ dnscacheutil -flushcache

In Mac OSX versions 10.5.1 and before, the command lookupd -flushcache performed the same task: bash-2.05a$ lookupd -flushcache

i was able to go to zoto!

    pls doublecheck the address:

    it should be: http://zoto.com

your note from above includes "www."- that should be deleted.

    hope this helps.
