Hi pals!.. I need your help. I have the Xilisoft Video converter cd (original licensed) which i bought bargain in parksquare makati 2 months ago. It was working pretty okay until i find out it wont convert flv files. As i search on the net, i was told to download the latest version or an upgrade. Thinking it was for free, i did find and downloaded the newer version. After installing, it does overwrite my old xilisoft. Now the problem.. it was just a trial version. So i dragged the application sa trash folder and tried to re-install my old xilisoft cd. On the install process, it does say "video converter can't be installed on this disk. A newer version of this software already exists on this disk." I tried to look for that file but cannot find it. I used spotlight but still cannot find where that file is. Its my 3rd day now without the converter and i feel really disappointed as i have few files needs to be converted for my presentations. Help please.. i just need to re-install the software again.
    Thanks in advance!

Did you empty the trash after putting the trial version into the trash and before reinstalling the old one?

Try running the trial installer again. Usually there's an uninstall option there so that you can perform a clean uninstall.

Try searching for Xilisoft and names associated with the software ( company name as an example) then delete all files. Reinstall old software.

after trying and trying ti fix this.. i was left with no other choice but to delete files on my HDD. Yup, i did a clean install of SL so as to delete whatever file that was. I needed the converter so much at work. But then, ive been planning to do a clean install of SL this December sana.. napa-aga lang. But now, my xilisoft is working again.
    Thanks pals!
