Every time I open my mail app it will automatically quit and a pop message of "The application Mail quit unexpectedly. Click Relaunch to launch the application again. and so on" I click the Relaunch but still the same. I'm running the latest Mail version on OS 10.5.1. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you. try repairing disk permissions first. if it still doesn't work, re-install mail from the original 10.5 disk (optional installs folder). as an aside, i had problems with many applications when i used the archive and install option to upgrade my tiger to leopard. i got so frustrated that i completely re-did my installation. those problems are gone now. how did you upgrade?
Thanks Rommel. The upgrade was through the new machine (iMac). I'm wondering coz my wife's mail in the other account is working fine. How should I do the disk permissions? Thanks for the help.
download onyx (it's free) and run the disk permissions activity. also, try creating a new account. will it encounter problems also?
I created a new account and the mail app works okay. I think there's something wrong when I performed the file migration from old mac to the new machine. Do you know on how to restore the old mail app?
must have something to do with the apps being loaded with your profile - they might be conflicting with the mail app. don't know how to re-install the old mail app, maybe the same way you install the app when you install leopar? must be in the optional installs of the tiger installer.
I am also having problems with my mail app since I migrated to Leopard. For some reason my email addresses get mixed up. To give you a background, I have 5 email addresses configured in Apple mail. 2 of them are IMAP mails, the rest are POP. When I send emails using email addy 1, I would get a reply addressed to email addy 2. I checked my sent box and confirmed that I used the right email address to send it out. Hindi ako sigurado why the recepient would see the same email as being sent using one of my other email addresses. I did not configure a reply to address so it's impossible that I made a mistake. Does this have something to do with the SMTP server I used? Sometimes one SMTP server would not work so I would use the next to send it out.
