Help, Macintosh HD Finder window looks like a loaded disk image Finder window

    Only happens when I double click the Macintosh HD icon. All other folders open in the normal Finder window with the toolbar at the left, etc. Don't know what caused it. How can I fix it?

    Running Leopard on a PB G4.

    I'm not seeing a problem here. It's Finder in column mode. Care to elaborate?

    I'm not seeing any problem either. post a screen shot of your "normal" finder window please

    edit: did you mean to tell that the other sidebar items are not showing?

    This is the normal Finder window:

    This is the weird Finder window of Mac HD now:

    And for comparison, this is a the Finder window when you double click on a folder link (usually to Applications) in a loaded .DMG file:

    In my first post, the photo shows the whole Finder window of the Mac HD. All the things on the left part and the top part are missing. It looks like the window of a loaded .DMG file. The photos I'm showing show the whole window.

    try to click the upper right hand corner button

    Haha thanks a lot alikshi! That worked soon enough. It took more time to post these photos than to fix it. Haha!

    PhilMUG fixed my problem in 15 minutes!
