Hi, How can I share one iTunes folder with multiple users in my computer (OSX Panther)? I tried putting the folder in the root, with Read Write access granted to others, but the songs are not seen by the other users even after I change their default itunes folder to this shared folder in the root. Thanks, Floyd
You must launch iTunes 4.x under each user account and switch on Sharing in the iTunes Preferences window. Once you do that, other users' libraries will appear in the Source list (as User's Music), looking and behaving almost exactly like libraries shared across a network. Found the solution since sharing does not work...you can only run one instance of iTunes in a computer, and the share does not appear unless itunes is running on the account wishing to share his library. What i did was to put the songs in the root folder, and then under each iTunes - Advanced i disabled the "Copy Files to iTunes folder when adding to Library". I then File - Add to Library choosing the folder I created in the root. Cool!
