help: boot up sound

    is it normal in a MBP to hear a scratching sound for a split second during boot up?

    None with mine..are you in SL OS already?

    yes sir SL OS. after pressing the on button i can hear a sound for a split sec only... kala ko po normal lang kasi ganun din sa friend ko.

    parang sa dvd drive galing yung sound..

    same with my mbp 13 here. i think its the drive that initializes or something, but i'm not sure.

    Same with me. It's like coming from the DVD drive. I'm in SL already.

    It might be your DVD drive booting up. I've heard a similar sound on mine. Did you leave a DVD in the drive?

    That's the sound of the superdrive head moving to the "start" position.
    That's normal.
