HBO GO Philippines has just been launched and it's free for SKY Cable subscribers w/ HBO Pak, and select SKY Broadband plans. The iOS app can be found on the PH iTunes store.

I tried to register last night being a SKY Broadband subscriber but I found out that we wont be getting it free because we're on plan 3 Mbps. It's free for 5 Mbps and up.

Any mugger out there who's enjoying HBO GO? Is it really HBO, you know raw and uncut not like the censored one on TV? How's the stream quality? Share your experience!

I am but I watch HBO Go US, so I see more nudity than what's shown locally. I dunno if it will be the same with the Philippine version. The downside is you get to see a more nude Lena Dunham, that, for me, I'd rather unsee.

For more revealing stuff, get MaxGo, the streaming service of Skinemax, er, I mean Cinemax.

HBO Go is P199 for those who don't want to get the HBO Pack on Sky. Those who have Sky Broadband and cable will be charged P99.

    Check out their FAQs here.

Sometimes the iOS and Android app is quite buggy and sometimes it crashes. Streaming is ok, and consistent. Overall, if you love HBO and all their movies & TV series, you'll love HBO GO. :)

HBO Go Philippines have updated their services. Aside from HBO originals, you can now watch whatever content (movies & specials) they currently show on their cable channel in HD and on-demand, and also live feed of HBO channels are available for viewing. Great job by HBO Philippines, but availability is still limited to SkyCable subscribers.

I think the update of service was done to match with FOX Philippines' on-demand service FOX+ which is also great.

Waitaminute, so non-Skycable subscribers can't avail of this locally?

Yes. It's been exclusive to SkyCable subscribers since it launched in 2014.

    according to HBO Go support:

In order for the Google Cast button to be visible in HBO GO, Chromecast and your Android phone or tablet must be on the same Wi-Fi network. If you're experiencing issues with Chromecast, try the following steps: Make sure that Chromecast and the device with HBO GO are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Cast from your phone or tablet
    1. Turn on your TV and make sure Chromecast is set up and plugged in.
    2. Open HBO GO and sign in, if needed.
    3. Start playing a video.
    4. Along the top of the player, tap the Google Cast button.
    5. Choose the device that you want to cast to. ...
    6. To stop casting, tap the Cast button and then tap Disconnect.

Hi tnx sa info pero i try it na actually it works, kaso parang di pa ata fully supported ang hbo go...

Have you tried using the chromecast on hbo go?
Kasi po what i experience is after a few minutes after streaming sa chromecast is its either bigla nalang nawawalan ng sound or nagbubuffer ung video....

Di ko naman pede masabi dahil sa speed ng internet ko, dahil ala naman ako ganyan problem sa iflix, netflix, youtube and other streaming apps...

Pero,if im using directly sa tablet or phone ko, ala naman ako na experience ganyan problem...

Have you encounter those problem po? :)

I've been using HBO Now which is their US based service, so I have to use a VPN to access it. No cuts. :)

The HBO apps are weird. There is the HBO Go which is basically an app for HBO subscribers on cable. The way you get access is by entering your cable subscription credentials. HBO Now is a streaming app that you can install on your smart TV, Android, iOS, Roku, or other streaming devices.

HBO Go is a legacy app for cable subscribers who wanted to consume media on the "GO". HBO Now is a cable cutter solution.

It gets more confusing when each network wants to release their own app to watch their shows.
