$799 USD for the karma which means its gonna be $1000 here in CAD :(

And there's a $39 adaptor to use if you have the Hero 4.

    DJI Mavic looks good too!

$399 Hero5 with all the features looks promising and the removal of the housing is a really good improvement.

You can now add data overlays to your GoPro footage | The Verge

Finally played with my Hero 5...

Compared to my POSH W9... Colors are way better.

Voice command is convenient, but I got a lot of weird looks from other people I was in MBS saying "GoPro take a photo" / "GoPro Start/Stop Recording"

If you already own a Hero 4 Black, I can't see a reason for the "upgrade"

Some shops are selling the Hero 5 and Hero 4 Black at SGD 590. No brainer not to get the 5

The 5's USB-C to charge is very welcome... Both my phones use a USB-C which means I can start reducing the cables I carry during trips.

Finally used my Hero 5 on a trip...

    1. Voice command... I find it as a gimmick, I was in Phuket and you really need to speak loud if you want your selfie taken.
    2. Rear LCD... again, gimmick, almost useless when your fingers (and the screen) is wet
    3. Plastic part of the lens protector can get easily scratched... (no wonder GoPro is selling a replacement)

Lesson learned... Update the device to the newest firmware before using... My camera froze (more than twice), first one was when my wife was using it while riding an elephant!

Just learned something new over the weekend...

When storing your Hero 5... Keep the doors open!!!

    They will get stuck!

I broke mine trying to open it... (It still works... But the plastic the keeps it in place while open is gone...)

Voice command is a great feature but i find it akward using it in public places. So i decided to buy GoPro Smart remote. Very convenient to use.

^I agree, planning to get the older remote...

Smart Remote seems ok, but you still need to change modes using voice... I find the normal remote more useful.

Smart remote does not have voice recognition. The latest remote is Remo (waterproof voice activated remote).

I never use the remote and I've sold mine. I do love the waterproof Hero 5 Black. Anyone interested in a Hero 4 SE?

Did you recently use it in seawater? You'll have to rinse anything exposed to saltwater immediately after use.
