Now that the Hero 4 is out, would you buy the black edition or the silver one? :)

Can GoPro's bundled software edit 4K videos?

The Black boasts of higher video capabilities and faster processor while the Silver has the touchscreen for framing and playback. Power vs Convenience. Tough choice. :)

When I looked at the system requirements for their GoPro Studio, it specified certain graphics card requirements for "4K editing and playback"

Since 4K is still tough to work around on post, I'd say silver edition then.

Having been spoiled by the builtin LCD monitor of the cheapo SJ4000, I'd go for the Silver. I seldom "wear" my action cam. It's usually handheld, and mounted on the Steadicam Curve, to shoot my running buddies while we're running.

^Henrys, ROX, Pixelpro, Digital Walker, Mobile 1 to name a few. The mounts, poles & housing can be shared between the hero 3+ & hero 4[emoji1]

Need your opinion... (Silver vs Black)

My wife prefers the Silver thanks to its LCD. According to her (and her friends, based on their experience with the Hero3). You can easily view your video/photo even without your phone and you can also easily aim your subject...

I prefer the Black since its future proof (4K) and I believe that the LCD will just be a waste of battery :)

The LCD will be useless if you mount the camera to your arm, helmet and when taking a selfie...

Of all our gadgets, our "video cameras" never gets updated... Our Canon video camera can only shoot SD and since our phones and other cameras can take better videos, we only use it when we needs its optical zoom (excellent for school events)...

So if I use the GoPro for more than 5 years... Do you agree that the Black is a better purchase?
