This is one of the most useful app for travelers out there. You just have to point your camera on a foreign language and, voila! It will automatically translate those words right in front of your very eyes. I used to have World Lens but the free version only has a handful of languages to convert. Now comes Google Translate and it has all the entire languages and you can download it offline and the best thing is its free!

if i'm not mistaken, World Lens was bought by Google and the result of that is what we have now, this being Google Translate. i was able to use this when i was in Japan and i love that apart from it being able to translate ala Kanji Goggles or Yomiwa, it speaks Japanese! haha! i was able to use it to "speak" with the locals when asking about stuff to varying degrees of success. nonetheless, a good companion when travelling to non-english speaking locales.

This was a lifesaver in Tokyo when the only thing available to get us from Narita to another part of town is Google Maps and Translate.
