the truth is they are delaying as long as it can hold to price down and still profit from it, they know they can't do what Apple do price what as high as possible

Google guarantees 3yrs of OS updates same as the previous Pixels. The 5yrs guarantee only applies to security updates.

I know. But I honestly haven't seen a usable 5 year old Android device.

As far as I can remember...
My Nexus 6P is still at home, but only as a back-up control to my Xiaomi devices and weighing scale.
My Pixel 3 was showed signs of age on year 3
Nexus 7 died before it was 3 years old
I sold the other Nexus/Pixel devices before they reached 2 years old.

all my Androids phone oldest from 2015 are all in service until now and all running LineageOS with Android 11 with monthly security patch.
I still have an Iphone X but its getting boring and like a bar phone in the past that you can only customize it with lots of cases available in the market.

Got my coral pixel 6 early yesterday. My last pixel was a panda 2XL and I totally missed the fast update cycle of the pixel line.

Talk about updates dated for the future.
