I recently configured my Mail app to retrieve my gmail account e-mail via POP. However, am not sure how to export my addresses/contact list from gmail to mac. I tried going the ".csv" route but mac will only accept 'vcards' and 'ldif' formats for importing. I tried changing the extension but to no avail.

Is there a way around this?

Do you have MS Entourage? MS Entourage can import the CSV into its Address Book. Then from the Entourage address book, you can directly drag the entries (as vcf (vcard) fiels) into Apple's Addressbook.
