When will iphone gets support for the volte and vowifi? sa mga naka experience na nito, does the battery of your phone drains much faster?
I didn't notice any significant effect on the battery life of my Huawei Mate 20 Pro, when I used VoLTE.
Yes. Very useful especially while driving. Many times before, talking to someone on the phone while driving (handsfree), Waze would lose internet connectivity. I guess that's sorted now.
Does anyone here have visibility or have tried to have their Globe postpaid account manually provisioned/aligned to use VoLTE and VoWifi? I'm on a ThePLAN postpaid device plan (Note10) that I renewed last year August but I'm curious as to why I didn't get the VoLTE/VoWifi flash message since the device I availed should support it.
It's all in the FAQ: Who can use VoLTE/Wi-Fi Calling? -We’re currently implementing VoLTE/Wi-Fi Calling in phases for selected postpaid customers in NCR. Not all postpaid customers in NCR will see the VoLTE icon on their phone even if they have VoLTE-compatible devices. Why wasn’t I selected when my device is VoLTE/Wi-Fi Calling capable? -We are implementing VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling in phases. The service will be available to more customers soon. That said, there's no harm in calling them up and request to have these features activated on your account. Revert back to this thread how it goes.
Yeah, I'm just curious on what their criteria is for activating VoLTE & VoWifi features on certain postpaid accounts since Smart was transparent on how they did their roll-out by focusing on Signature plan holders first. But yeah I'll try calling them up and giving you guys a heads up on what their response will be.
VoWiFi will be great convenience for me since the reception inside the house is garbage. I always need to step out of the house to have a decent phone call.
Globe just released a new carrier update. New version is 41.1 and you must be on iOS 13.5 to get the update. The update includes the proper backend settings for VoLTE. Your number must be provisioned for the VoLTE trial before you can use it.
How can you be a part of the volte trial? I also wonder when will they support wifi calling on iPhones.
I'm not sure how they select who gets to participate. By the way, I noticed that after updating to carrier version 41.1, I cannot manually select 2G under Cellular Settings anymore.
Based on Globe's website iPhones are currently not on the list of supported devices for VoLTE and VoWIFI and only available in NCR for now. I hope they roll out nationwide and to more devices.
Agree! Since Setting 41.1 doesn’t allow manual togging to 2G anymore, my callers now get a frequent Cannot Be Reached whenever they ring me + sms delayed. 3G and LTE signals are almost non existing inside my bedroom. Before I can just switch to 2G when inside and signal is perfect. Having WiFi Calling will truly be of help.
My experience is different. In my room, I get 2 bars of LTE (band 28 700MHz) most of the time, while 3G and 2G (both under the 900MHz band) are non-existent. I still receive SMS because it works over LTE, but calls barely work because there's no 3G and 2G signal. VoLTE (and Wi-Fi Calling) would solve this issue. Well, it's Globe. It's not like they're always on time when it comes to updating their website (or say, informing their customer reps). But yes, I also cannot wait for this.
