It really depends on your future needs. I opted for the Platinum because of the following:

    - ARC Member (Free Valet Parking on Ayala Malls - MM, Free stay on Ayala lounge, discounts on gadgets stores c/o ARC app, BPI Preferred - I DONT BANK with BDO- never again, PowerMac discounts upto 15% even on Apple devices)
    - Priority Network (I needed this most of the time due to my kind of work, though I'm on PLDT Fibr when at home, I' don't have an office since I'm a freelance IT Admin so I work on coffee shops, co-working, and other public places)
    - Free 48 hours International roaming (on Globe Zone 1 + Zone 2 partners*)
    - RM (Fixes my account whenever needed, though I don't need it most of the time)
    - Unli Lounge access on T3 (for International Flights, compared to my Citi PremierMiles who only have 2 access per year)
    - Consumable (used for Netflix, Spotify, Disney)

It really depends on your needs.

On ARC: You're covered with your BPI Preferred Account.

On Airport Lounge: Any banks with priority pass unlimited tie-up is better than PremierMiles now. A travel card that gives you two lounge access? Ang bastos lang. They're also handing it out like pancakes. It has lost it's exclusivity. Thank you, next.

    Reasons to Stay w/ thePlatinum:

Priority Network and allowed to use consumables on Netflix, Disney and Spotify makes more sense on a money standpoint. 16,512 savings for 24 months by not charging it on your credit card. ThePlan no longer allows deduction of Netflix and Spotify Premium from consumables.

Platinum also makes sense for frequent travelers. For me, i'd rather pay for what I use, not what *i might* use. Some find the appeal of fixed cost billing even if it's hurting their bottom line because it's easier to anticipate and account for, I get it, taking a few minutes to pull up a pdf bill from Globe is harder than it should be.

    On being brand loyal:

Service consistency is the best indicator of a good product. Major red flags? If their "regular" customers are not getting decent level of service. Same dapat save for some indicated perks of being a preferred client.

They need to fix their RM perks. If it won't lessen the number of calls I have to make, does it make a difference if I get a random CS on my next follow up? Some subscribers are blessed with proactive RMs who spots billing issues before it's even mailed out, they should focus on that aspect. Some RMs are still flaky and consumer perception might be a mixed bag.

Try to keep an open mind when it comes to the service sector (Banks, Telco, etc.). I am, and I don't want to think that "that worst experience ever." will block me from actually getting a logical product/service from that company down the road, unless they were really arrogant about the whole situation.

I hated BDO by reputation (SM) but then I needed to bank after 5PM & Sat, FX rates are actually good almost the same as Google's quote, their app allows you to do more things without human interaction. They're virtually everywhere. They consistently approved reversals for late payments and annual fees because I was the one forgetful. :p
Anything I missed? Who am I to comment about thePlatinum though?:ROFLMAO:

It just says worry-free which is code for, it depends. 20-25GB is a safe volume, anything lower means you're better off with a lower Plan/non-unli package. If you're in a highly urbanized area, you might reach FUP faster but I saw some forum posts of people going over 150GB before getting hit with slower data.

Planning to upgrade to Platinum. Is the data faster than a regular plan? Merry Christmas everyone!

Priority Network should only kick in when there are too many users congesting the network in a given area. Speeds should be the same if the area is not too congested.

It's hard to test it out objectively (you'd need two of the same phones in the same spot at the same time with one Platinum account and one regular account).

But based on my experience, I notice the Priority Network more when I'm in an area of low cell tower density (ie. rural areas). Could be placebo or just me having a better phone pero I've gotten a more consistent LTE signal w/ better speeds compared to those I was with (with theirs more or less staying on 3G).

One of my biggest reasons to go Platinum is the unlimited data. The rest are just minor perks. Prior to upgrading, Globe was charging me P1500 on top of the 2499 plan I had, whenever I go beyond 6GB. Going platinum was actually cheaper.

I have also adjusted my Globe bill three times over the past year just by calling or texting my RM. No need to wait half an hour on Globe’s hotlines. Complaints via the normal non-Platinum hotline regarding duplicate charging or invalid roaming charges usually cannot be resolved immediately and need to be escalated, whereas my RM does everything.

    Hello mga sirs and ma’am.

After years of indecisiveness, I finally decided to subscribe to Globe’s Platinum Plans yesterday.
It helped na 6mos na lang ung contract period nila for the line-only plans.
I was thinking, I’d give their so-called “Globe Priority Network” and “All-Month Surf” a try after being frustrated with the connectivity of my previous plans.
If I am not happy during the next 6 months, or if I don’t feel any improvements, I can easily cut it without having spent too much.

After all is said and done, I must say that there is NOTHING special to my first 24 hours of being a Platinum subscriber.
Am I just expecting too much?

EXPECTATION #1: Processing of Platinum applications would be quicker than usual as part of the perks of Platinum.
REALITY #1 : Spent almost 2 hours in the business center for them to process my application and give me my new sim.
COMMENT : Since technically hindi pa ako Platinum member at this point, I’ll give this expectation a pass.

EXPECTATION #2: Platinum sim would have some special marking/label to indicate that it is Platinum.
REALITY #2 : Was given the same old Globe LTE sim card as if I was just requesting for a replacement sim.
COMMENT : Not a deal-breaker, but still disappointing.

EXPECTATION #3: New applicants would receive some “welcome” packet as part of the orientation on being a Platinum member.
    REALITY #3 : Nothing.
COMMENT : Actually, they gave me a Toblerone chocolate bar pero I think that was just a leftover from some Valentine’s promo that they may have had..

EXPECTATION #4: “Platinum” network operator logo
    REALITY #4 : “Globe LTE”
COMMENT : I’ve read through this thread and know that it is not instantaneous for some reason. When I checked with Thea, it had to be requested pa raw.

EXPECTATION #5: Call from RM on the next business day to introduce himself/herslef and welcome me to the Platinum
    REALITY #5 : nothing
COMMENT : Again, in chatting with Thea, I found out that there is no RM assigned to me just yet.

EXPECTATION #6: Expecting to be offered the AirBoost as (one of the) welcome gift.
    REALITY #6 : nothing
COMMENT : When I asked Thea, ang default response was that I could get one for Php499.00 a month for 24 months. I had to explicitly ask why I am not being given a FREE one as part of my platinum membership before Thea responded that yes, I could receive one for FREE.

EXPECTATION #7: Better/Stronger signal and faster data reception using Platinum sim.
REALITY #7 : Feels the same.
COMMENT : I am aware na limited to 3 locations pa lang ung advertised “Globe Priority Network” as per the FAQ. Still, disapponting.

So all in all, not impressed with my first day of being a Platinum subscriber.
I hope the next 179d are going to be MUCH better than this.
Otherwise, to (SMART) Infinity and beyond!

^I dunno ha, maybe it's a bit early to give a review after being a Platinum subscriber after 1 day with maybe half of your expectations that aren't deal breakers. You said it yourself, maybe you're expecting a little too much?

Like why do you expect the SIM card to have a Platinum label? It goes in the phone and is never taken out again. My RM wasn't assigned to me after 2-3 days, but I got rid of him because he was inefficient but that's another story. AirBoost I know is a perk of Platinum subscribers but I didn't expect them to openly offer it to me.

I've been on Platinum for around 3 years now. I can't say I'm TOTALLY happy. But with the All-Month Surf, Priority Network, and Thea, I'm more than satisfied with my subscription.

Then again, service consistency from start to finish is something you look for in luxury brands. PLATINUM should be held at the same expectation. My 2c.

I think he's probably referring to the privilege that you can just flash your phone as proof your Platinum, then you get the perks. But they don't look at the sim, they just look at the upper left hand corner of your phone, and you just flash the platinum "signal", and voila! Perks :ROFLMAO:(y)

    :D I know, I know...

Yung RM nyo sir, for all of 3 years, dinaig talaga ni Thea?

I think the distinguishing network operator name was a cool idea.
Whoever though of it in Globe must be commended.

Well, as an update to my 24th - 48th hour of being a Platinum subscriber, I finally got my Platinum signal (y) and my assigned RM has already introduced himself. 1d turnaround for these after having had Thea make an official request is not so bad. Would have really just been nice kung may naga-align ng expectations ng would-be subscribers.

Now I am just waiting for my AirBoost to be installed and for my ARC application to be approved...

Sadly, yes. And my RM didn't even last a year. I just opted for another add-on to my plan.
