The long wait is almost over. Pre-order starts on October 18. Who’s getting one & which iPhone areyou getting this year?
yup Oct 25 it is, a day earlier than last year hehe... my platinum RM said he'll have details regarding cashout by tom
Thumbs down on Globe for this: I was quoted a pre-term fee of almost 10k on my Platinum plan, even if lockup is just 1 1/2 months away (first week of December). Looks like I’ll get from Charlie/BTB and grab an unlocked unit instead.
That's overkill. For a Platinum guy, I would have expected them to waive that. Have you tried calling them on the phone - my experience is that calls are a bit more effective in waiving and they tend to be more lenient.
Sent a text message to my RM. I was informed that they can waive it if it’s just a month, so given that the lockup expires on December 8, I can get one starting November 8 and they will waive the preterm fee. I guess I just have to wait 2 weeks after the launch date, hoping there will still be stocks. Posting this info for other Globe subscribers as well. Given that the iPhone X launched on December 8, 2017, those who are on 2 year lockup have to wait a while.
Just tell them you will switch to the other telco if they can not waive the preterm fee for a measly 2-3 weeks in advance.
Guys i want to recontract too to the new ip11 pro max... probably getting the plan 1799... Probably i will just get the 5gb data since most of the time may wifi naman sa office.. So im thinking which among these video streaming app is applicable to include in my package not on top of the bill: hooq Disneylife Amazon prime Fox + for sure netflix will be on top of the bill daw..
Hopefully the new 3rd telco player would be able to offer nice deals and of course a much better service than the current Globe Smart Duopoly.
Hi guys, Any tips for re-contract with Globe? This is the first time I'll be doing a re-contract. My original line was the iPhone 7 plus so in theory my plan should be ready for re-contract. Last time I tried to re-contract, I was pissed because they told me I had to wait 2 weeks event if I "pre-ordered" and I tried calling in for a "new line" then I only had to wait 1 week so I got a new line instead and terminated my previous line. I've been reading the threads and it seems like the only way to pre-order and re-contract is via hotline. With this, here are some questions that I have to prepare: 1. If the pre-order starts at 8:00 AM, Should I start calling at 7:59 to not be on queue? 2. What information/document should I prepare so that the PO will be smooth? 3. What information should I request in order to secure the reservation and date of pick-up/delivery so I can follow-up? 4. What is a better way to secure the timely arrival of my device? store pick-up or delivery? (I want to get it as soon as the 25th OR I can wait until 28th) 5. Is there a way or should I call globe in advance to prepare my re-contract and submit it when the new iPhone arrives for faster transaction on the 18th and secure that I won't be having any issues or misinformation on that day? 6. Since there's telco changes on-going, what would be the re-contract hotline? Is it better to call using landline or using mobile? Sorry I have a lot of questions and I'm such a segurista but I'm just excited and I want to secure a new phone before my birthday which is a few days after the release as it's my birthday gift to myself and I don't want to setup myself for failure haha XD
Recontracting experiences vary from person to person. I’ll answer your questions based on my experiences from the past experiences I had: 1. You can call ahead of 8am as there might be a lot of calls to their hotline aside from orders/pre orders 2. Just provide your full name, mobile number, and answer their security questions ( birthday, mother’s maiden name etc.) 3. Explicitly say you want to avail of the iPhone 11( specific model you want) with a plan ( that you specifically like). You can also say that the cash-out will be charged to bill (there’s a discount of approximately 2400php from the handset price and be in installment for 24 months) is you want to. 4. Either option is fine, but from my experience store pickup is the most reliable. 5. No need to do this as they can process the recontracting during your call on the 18th. 6. You can call (02) 7730-1000 either through landline or mobile. hope that helps you. Cheers to your future new iPhone!
