Globe will also launch its 100mbps fiber to home internet this month!

Their initial phone + wifi router + 10mbps internet plan is price at 3995Php

while 100mbps will go up to 14,999...

This is obviously competing with PLDT's FTTH service.

PLDT's service has more areas that is compatible with this network though...

The 10Mbps plan is cheap. For the value the 100Mbps offers it is very affordable.

typical market one-upmanship hype. very similar to the introduction of 3G. both mobile operators claiming it, like the whole country lived in makati. ;)

i can afford the 10mbps plan. i can't afford moving to their service areas. ;)

This is great news, my area is covered by Globe Internet.

Yup, will check first, if my area is Globe hyper-speed activated, then ditch BayanDSL, although I am a very satisfied BayanDSL user for almost 3 years na yata.

EDIT: I just read now the last portion, yikes, Forbes lang pala. :( okay Im keeping my BayanDSL.

I'd get this on launch day if they can promise low latency for playing lag free xbox live!

Otherwise I don't see the point cause everybody else will be a bottleneck/weak link to my connection.

10Mbps ... your home to the local server, how about the local server to outside the country? also, ask for the ports, if they are blocking any port, and the IP, must be a lovely public one.

I tried calling Globe through their hotline 919-8888, was inquiring and planning to set up an appointment for installation. Unfortunately Globe CSRs have no clue about such product. Hmm. What to do..
