Does this mean a Smart issued phone won't be able to avail?

For now its only for globe issued iphones. The person who assisted me told me they wont release esim qr codes if your phone is not from globe.

I was thinking it would support the Apple Watch already however, a statement from globe:

"A handful of smart watches support an eSIM such as the Apple Watch LTE, Huawei Smart Watch 2, Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE but these aren’t available in the Philippines yet."

Really??? Well i think sobrang arte sa Globe SM Pampanga. When i asked about the qr code for esim they immediately asked if i purchased the phone via Globe and he even verified it via their system. Hmmmmm.... Depende rin siguro sa store. Kainis. Hahaha...

For those who got an eSim already, is it for a new line or you can use your existing line with it?

Ok, thanks for the info sir!
Can you please explain the method on how you activated your esim?
From my understanding, you simply scan the QR code then it will automatically import information from the physical sim installed?
Or there's a process needed to be done?

You just scan the QR code via add data service in settings menu. Then after that, it will prompt you if you will use the esim for data and or sms/voice calls. And thats it.

Smart albeit transparent way of keeping you locked into the network.

The Physical sim slot is locked to Globe and the eSim is not locked but they require your unit to be purchased with them as well to get the QR code.

A no-deal for me (Globe XR). I'll wait for Smart to do the same and get a QR code from them.

    Ok sir, thanks.
After activating the esim, will it not conflict with the physical sim (existing number) installed?

The moment you activate esim for your existing number, it will automatically deactivate the physical sim.

We have someone here got his unit from singapore and globe provided him with the qr code for esim. I think globe will provide also for you since your unit was purchased locally. And for as long as you have a globe postpaid plan.
