no need to get another esim if you restore your phone. You will only need to get a new esim qrcode if you buy a new iphone.

    Their site said not supported:

    https://www.globe.com.ph/help/esim.html

    What’s an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM that’s embedded and can’t be removed from certain mobile phones and allows you to activate a mobile phone plan from your network operator without the use of a physical nano SIM.

A handful of smart watches support an eSIM such as the Apple Watch LTE, Huawei Smart Watch 2, Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE but these aren’t available in the Philippines yet.

you can try and share your experience. besides, you have fallback as your iPhone were already have activated service already ;)

Finally activated esim on my iPhone SE 2020. I requested for an esim for my work sim from our office's corporate account handler and it feels so good to use one phone for both work and personal (Smart) lines. No need to carry another phone.

Here's how the signal bar looks like on SE

Hi I'm planning to switch to globe E-sim, so that the spare physical sim slot I could use it when traveling abroad...
What are the disadvantages of E-sim over physical sim?

Also if ever after a few years I decided to change or upgrade to a new phone, could I easily transfer my number on the new phone?

The only advantage I see is you can use the physical sim with another network (assuming it's an openline).
Signal wise, it's just the same.
There were some issues encountered before by our fellow muggers when upgrading their phone and using the same e-sim. I'm not sure now though if Globe has resolved it.
But, what I did last year when I upgrade to the 11 Pro Max was I went to a Globe Store and have my e-sim changed to nano sim a month before pre-ordering the iphone.
After getting my new phone, I went back again to the Globe Store and had my nano sim changed back to e-sim with my new phone.
And the best part is, all of these changing of sims are free. (y)

    thanks for that info..
Anyway are there already prepaid E-sims on other countries?
What if I will do is the other way around, my main line will still be the physical sim, then if I travel abroad could I get a prepaid E-sim (is that possible?)

Hi guys! Just a quick question. I'm about to upgrade to a Samsung S20+ in the near future. Assuming that Globe supports it for Esim use (not sure if is supported already or not). And the fact the the S20+ has dual sim capacity (second slot is hybrid sim slot) Is the following setup feasible:

    Esim: Globe
Sim slot 1: Second network (Smart etc)
Sim slot 2/Hybrid slot: SD card

Because i'm thinking that if it won't work that way then i won't bother going to globe to have my e-sim now and maybe delay it until later.

    Thanks!!

Quick question, if Globe-bought iPhones lock both eSIM and physical SIM to their network, is it possible to have eSIM with Globe while use R-SIM on the physical SIM to use with another network? Anyone tried this route?

Assuming the phone is bought from Globe and given Globe's lock-in regarding eSIM and (primary) SIM, not to mention my experience with dual-SIM phones, you can only use another network on the hybrid SIM/SD card slot.

Thanks for the Reply. well i just bought my S20 plus the other day. Not from globe though (I went open line) so I guess we can take out the lock-in condition of globe. I was not able to ask globe regarding this. I might go there to ask one of these days.

Good evening sir! I guess so, because on the settings of my S20 plus an "esim" setting is included.

Here's an exact screenshot from my phone

Hi! My postpaid plan is still under contract with Globe. I also have an unlocked iPhone pro and prepaid e-sim works perfectly in Australia.
Can globe activate an e-sim on my iPhone 11 without any charges? It’s like I have postpaid contract, but won’t be using the phone that Globe gave me.

another advantage is a snatcher can't physically remove your sim card when you have eSim activated.
