Some days, like today, the sheer joy and fulfillment I get from being a Mac user is tainted ever so slightly by envy and jealousy. I got a call from a good friend of mine, a hardcore video gamer and Warcraft guildmate, (not to mention fellow car club member and motorsport freak) and he was raving about a new driving game he bought for his PC called GTR. He raved for several minutes about how it was the most realistic automobile racing sim he had ever played, the graphics, the handling, the artificial intelligence, and then almost with a note of pity in his voice, he said "I don't think it works on the Mac, dude. You may want to consider buying a PC just for this game." And then, with a touch of malice, "You're really missing out. Believe me." Well, I moseyed on over to the website, downloaded the videos and screenshots, and all I can say is ARGH. It looks fantastic.
Screenshot from GTR Hey, the game even has the Mosler MT900R that Angelo Barretto drove for Perspective Racing in the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa event! (Notice the PLDT logo)
why am i not shocked that you started this thread? the only games i would like to play are the classic board games like scrabble and boggle. i know that there out there but cant seem to find one. ill probably locate them in the future. for now, ill stick to watching tv
Hard to really say... I have several PC's and this Mac... and I don't really feel like playing any game. Though, I really do wish they had more MMORPG Mac versions like WoW (just wish they had a local server). If I had to choose a single person game... I'd probably wish for my all time favorite of Master of Orion 1 and 2. Ok... so that's retro.. but what can I say. They don't make games like they used to. Nowadays its all graphics with little gameplay or creativity.
Vic, just wondering, what do you think of Forza Motorsport for the Xbox? Scheduled to be released on May 3.
The only game that I wish would come out on the Mac is Star Wars Galaxies since The Sims 2 for the Mac is already coming. All the other games I want to play are available on my Xbox (without the hassle and cost of maintaining a PC)
Yahoo! Sims 2! Asteeg! I'm waiting for that one. Pero I'm quite skeptical if it'd run on my machine at all. The PeeCee version taxed my PeeCee running WinBlows XP and sporting a 128MB VRAM like hell. Anyway, I agree with the Console thing. That's why it's there anywhere. At least, I'm confident that I'm not "laspaging" my Mac.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: The Sith Lords and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Sana may mac version coming soon.
even though its already pretty old id like to see Star Trek Armada to load on my mac... and despite the "low-tech" engine, im feeling a little Gunbound envy... :sigh:
Hey Vic! That's a cool discovery -- AAB's Mosler in a video game? Definitely, it's worth playing! Does he know about this yet? Good of you to post a pic of the real car at Spa! I'm posting a pic of the Mosler running in the rain at the 24-Hours of Spa. Photo by Nico Sepe.
Actually, the games I really care about are available for the Mac -- Rise of Nations and World of Warcrack. But if there's a game that they need to port it's LOTR Battle for Middle Earth. Too good to languish in one platform.
