Hi, A new mac-user here, just got the new macbook. Having som difficulties though. Can someone tell me where the best place is to download games compatible for mac? I am looking for games like command & conquer or Warcraft 2 or 3. Would really appreciate some help. Thanks. Pauli
To download games, just go to their developer's site or just Google "Command & Conquer Mac" and so on. You can also find Mac games available at any Datablitz and in some Power Mac branches, or other Apple resellers, although you may want to call first.
buy them dude! u can't talk about piracy and illegal torrents here at PhilMUG. but try google-ing game titles in mac for torrents hahaha!
the games i play on my mac are on windows platform. i run them on crossover and work fine. the only problem is the utilization of the memory. i can't max out the 4gb ram on my mac. any help?
The official site is where you can download them. But I suggest you get the ones from Data Blitz instead.
i am able to play DOTA(Warcraft 3) on GG on my mac.. but it does lag.. i just run it on Parallels.. i think it would be better to use bootcamp if you plan on playing games on your mac with the use of windows OS.
rarely, i tried finding one, but nowhere to be found. and you have 2 buy 2 packages, the Diablo II and the LOD expansion. expensive. hahaha! downloaded it in torrent instead. ;p
sir philpangandian, is ur Call of Duty 4 mac application then u use Parallels to open GG client? or is ur Call of Duty 4 windows version and also runs on Parallels?
@ phil: I saw a Diablo II battle chest pack in Datablitz Power Plant Mall about 2 weeks ago. You can try your luck there. Hope there's still one left for you. Folks, just a friendly reminder-- PhilMUG doesn't condone software piracy and illegal downloads. Discussions about them are discouraged as well. In addition, I believe there is already a similar thread that exists within this forum.
Take note that original games from Blizzard have both Windoze and Mac versions in the same disk. So if you PC versions of Warcraft and Diablo try inserting it in your Mac. You may need to download a patch for it to install in OSX.
I'm surprised no one pointed the most obvious place to download shareware and free games for the Mac http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/games/ As for Diablo II, it has always been a hybrid Mac/PC CD but take note that it is so old that it can only run on Classic MacOS. The solution? Download the OSX installer for it found in Blizzard's website.
I buy my games here at http://www.macgamestore.com/. You can download the games from the site, and they'll give you sort of an activation code. You can pay via Paypal or credit card. HTH.
