I noticed that my mac mini core duo was missing something. Front Row. When I resystemed my core duo last week, I specifically included Front Row among the apps I wanted installed. I couldn't find it in the Applications folder in Finder so I searched for it in Spotlight. Found the file FrontRow.pkg and tried to run it. It wa okay until the part when it starts installing the app, it gives out an error, ERROR INSTALLING THE PROGRAM, and won't install. Is this because I didn't install garage band or imovie hd? or do I have a corrupted FrontRow.pkg? When I got my mini, I also didn't notice Front Row installed and I did try t run every app then. hmmm... what do you guys think?
I don't have Front Row in the apps folder of my MBP, but when I use the remote, the Front Row menu comes up. Have you tried the remote?
I'm sure it will work. In fact I'm positive, 100%. Have fun. BTW your remote works with Keynote as well.
Front Row does not exist in the Applications folder. It is installed in the System/Library/CoreServices folder. If it's there then it's installed. Doesn't it launch when you use the remote control or when you press cmd-esc?
i'll try it tonight! noob kasi! i never took the remote out of the box eh. hehe may plastic packaging pa. I'll check tongiht and let you guys know! thanks a bunch!
i think it would defeat the prupose of Front Row if you'll need to click on the "Front Row" app instead of it being driven by the Remote or Keyboard.
yeah, i kinda realized that just now hehe! funny coz i haven't a single music file in itunes (not much of a music freak but will do rip my old cds), not a photo in iphoto (aperture ako), and only the transformers the movie teaser for a movie! hahaha! dang! but i'm glad i found out how to run Front Row. My RC is now on my mini. thanks again!
