If anyone knows where I could find one, help me naman po. and also, a software like Lex Libris (a PC software of compilation of SC decided cases) for Mac. thanks!
just a tip: in the long run, you're not really going to need it. i remember seeing a bunch of freshmen lugging around huge law dictionaries, only to banish their tomes into perpetual dusthood later on. you'll catch on, soon enough.
am a second yr law stude na po . and i also have a blacks law dictionary, but the hard bound. i just need the software so i can have a legal dictionary anywhere, anytime of the day. i cant lug around my hardbound dictionary coz i usually study at starbucks/sbc. mabigat masyado.
True. Eventually, you'll get to remember all the legal words you need; and, on those occassions that you don't, your professor won't be satisfied with a dictionary definition anyway. Personally, I think a Lex Libris would be more indispensible.
i have a lex libris... but the pc edition, coz i used to have a laptop pc... nd its incompatible with mac os. i understand i might not need it in the long run, but i need it now so as to fully understand the cases that im reading. ive googled already, but all of them are in $$version. the links you have provided are very helpful (as a matter of fact as a student, through my tuition, i pay for the maintenance of the lawphil site) thanks guys!
if you go to CD Asia, they'll install it on your Mac. that's the only downside to owning Lex Libris, the default folio browser/viewer is only for the PC. but, if you want them to install it on your Mac, they'd gladly do it for free.
oh, that kind of copy of lex libris. whoops. sorry. we're not supposed to talk about that here, and neither are we supposed to condone it. in that case, i don't think they'd be too happy to see you.
yes, i know. that was before with my windows os Yah know, that kind of software inside the campus... if you happen to find any freeware law dictionary, just post it here. thanks!
I'm a first year law student as well, I've been looking for one, then i tried using the dictionary that comes with the mac, it contains quite a number of legal terms, so far it's been helpful...
i tried downloading the demo version from deanslawdictionary.com, but it's for windows only. i can't seem to find any formats for the mac. any tips? doesn't have to be freeware. thanks! edit: ah. found one. http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Word-Processing/Bouviers-Law-Dictionary.shtml
My, how times change! We used to study in the law library, so we had everything (law dictionary, case books) nearby. You'll definitely have problems if you study at [insert your favorite coffee place here].
I already tried looking for a freeware legal dictionary, but can't find any. Anyway, the Oxford dictionary with my ibook is enough...if there's a really difficult legal term, well, it'll be a trip to the lib I guess. Or if you stay in coffee shops, why not get unlimited wifi? but for that price, you can also buy Bouvier's Law Dictionary.
